Why Waga Rob?

Robert Hartwig served with the US Peace Corps in Burkina Faso from 2007-2012. After three years in rural settings, he moved to the capital city, Ouagadougou (pronounced wäɡəˈdo͞oɡo͞o) from 2011 to 2012. The nickname “Ouaga Rob” helped differentiate Hartwig from the other volunteer named Rob, known as “Old Man Rob.” (He was probably 40 or so, but to mostly 20-something year old Peace Corps Volunteers, that seemed so old!)
